For all destinations, the 19th December 2024 will be the last delivery date.
When we receive orders with a requested delivery date after the 19th December, we will change the date automatically to the 19th December. You will receive an order confirmation from our order processing team notifying you of the change.
We cannot take responsibility for late or non-deliveries due to adverse weather conditions, so please arrange for a timely delivery.
We will not dispatch nor deliver in the weeks of Christmas and New Year.
Please schedule a delivery either before Christmas – see dates above – or in the week after New Year. We will be closed on Wednesday 1st January 2025 (bank holiday), so our first dispatch date is the 6th January 2025 for all destinations.
Note:
Our smoked fish products keep for at least three weeks after delivery. So there is no need to have it delivered last minute!
You can place your order any time you want for a delivery in the future. During the checkout process, you can select a delivery date that suits you.

We use UPS for destinations outside Ireland, and DPD for within the island of Ireland**. Both UPS and DPD deliver door-to-door. The reason for sending it by courier is that postal services would not deliver within the required time.
** As our website can’t distinguish between Northern Ireland and UK, select “Ireland” as the delivery country in the checkout process, if you want an order to be sent to an address in Northern Ireland. This will save you freight costs. Then in the post code field, enter the Eircode V95 HD70 of the Burren Smokehouse. If required, enter Lisdoonvarna as the city/town as well. Make sure to enter the real delivery address details in the other address lines so that we know where to send the order. We will then manually change it to the right delivery address in our system.

Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to Australia or New Zealand due to import restrictions. But we do ship to the United States, Japan and other countries!
Tracking
UPS tracking numbers will be sent to you automatically provided we have your valid email address and mobile number. If you don’t receive an automated email from UPS by the afternoon of the day of scheduled dispatch, please check your spam/junk email folder.
For deliveries within the island of Ireland, DPD will send a text message to the recipient on the morning of the delivery if you provide a mobile number.
Sending surprise gifts
Lovely idea but they can lead to disappointment if the recipient – unaware of the delivery – is not at home and cannot take in the parcel. When sending a surprise gift, please make sure you send it to an address where there is always somebody present (work place, nearby shop, always-at-home-neighbour), or that somebody close to the recipient knows about the surprise gift coming.

If the payment information you enter does not get accepted, it is most likely one of two issues. One could be a simple typo in the numbers. The other one might be a missing 3D Secure Password that your bank or credit card company will issue on request.

One important question of course is “How long does the salmon keep once it’s delivered?” The answer is about 24 days, pack unopened, in the fridge.
We only ever have a limited quantity of Wild Smoked Salmon available from mid-summer. It does sell very fast, so you better get your order in as soon as it becomes available!

Calculating the shipping costs is relatively easy. The cost is determined by two factors: the weight and the country of destination. The website will calculate it automatically during the ordering process.
