Cookbook author Margaret M. Johnson from the US published a wonderful homage to the Burren Smokehouse on The Irish Echo under the headline "Best of the Burren". She has a great affinity to - and knowledge of - Ireland and especially County Clare where she has travelled to many times.
Quote: "... but my personal favorite, and one that no foodie should miss, is the Burren Smokehouse, located in the heart of Lisdoonvarna [...]".
Just before the Milwaukee Irish Fest 2023 opened its gates, Chef Tom Flavin talked to American TV station Fox6 about his cookery demonstrations at the Irish Fest 2023 for which he used our Burren Smoked Irish Organic Salmon. As a member of Eurotoques Ireland and a former Fáilte Ireland Food Champion promoting local food and tourism along the Wild Atlantic Way, he is a passionate ambassador for Irish food. We are very grateful to Tom for including us in his cookery demos and for giving us a mention on this TV show!
The Burren was crowned the Best Place to Holiday in 2022 by the Irish Times! Following the judges' decision to announce the Burren the winner, and under the headline "What makes the Burren the best place to holiday in Ireland 2022?", Róisín Ingle wrote a beautiful article letting visitors to and residents of the Burren share their impressions and their reasons for coming to the Burren.
She also met members of the Burren Ecotourism Network like Peter and Birgitta Curtin, and visited other businesses like Linnane's Lobster Bar, Monks in Ballyvaughan, the Burren Perfumery to name just a few.
The second largest Spanish newspaper El País published a long article in their travel section about the Burren and members of the Burren Ecotourism Network.
In a very poetic way, it highlights many of the small businesses who work with nature and are being influenced by their beautiful surroundings.
There is an undeniable penchant for food and poetry apparent which makes this article quite unique. Oysters, ice cream and our Burren smoked salmon get a good mention, as well as some historical (Caherconnell ring fort) and geological sites like the Cliffs of Moher and the Aillwee Caves.
Chef Neven Maguire, famous Irish chef and TV celebrity, showcased the Burren Smokehouse when filming an episode of "Neven Maguire's Irish Seafood Trails'” which was broadcast in February 2021 on the Irish TV channel RTÉ One.
He spent a good bit of time here at the Burren Smokehouse where he was given the VIP treatment and let into the smoking area which normally is off limits for the public. In the family-owned pub next door, the Roadside Tavern, Birgitta organised a Smoked Salmon and Burren Brewery craft beer pairing.

In May 2021, just in the middle of us launching our picnic options for the year that was in it, Dee Laffan introduced the Irish audience to different picnic options. Among them was ours, including the cute and very practical picnic table. We are "on" from 5.35 minutes.
We got the wonderful opportunity to tell our story titled “Irish Waters Run” in this beautiful interior design bible, Ireland's Homes Interiors and Living Magazine.

The Irish Times published an article on iconic Irish brands filled with brands that they had missed in their first article. Readers suggested lots and lots of brands, among other the Burren Smokehouse!
